Park beside the dam and enjoy a pleasant walk through the woods to the cache site. You may want to bring a sandwich and enjoy lunch at the nearby picnic table overlooking the Wichlacoochee River. Other than by boat, the island is accessible only across the dam on foot, bicycle, or (with special permission) on horseback. Don't let the "No Trespassing" signs discourage you. They only apply to the mechanical equipment areas at the dam. The island is full of trails and open to the public. The difficulty rating is 1.5 due to the many trees in the area.
