Go for a walk....
My son wanted to put out his first cache, so here we go. This cache has been placed on the Solomon Trail. This walking trail runs between Kiel and New Holstein, Wisconsin. This trail is used quite frequently by people, so watch out for muggles. It is paved for easy access...foot traffic and bicycles are the only things allowed...the cache is in a M258 decon container which is covered in camo tape. Has log and is large enough to hold a few small items. Please bring a pen/pencil and date and sign the log also. Here is the description from the City of New Holstein website-
The Solomon Trail (approximately 2.25 miles in length) between New Holstein and Kiel comes under the control and regulation of the Park & Recreation Commission. It was built in the year 2001 and was dedicated on October 28, 2001 . Since that day, traffic signs have been put up, memorial benches have been located, and a rest station has been built at the Fur Farm Road intersection (which is a halfway point).
In a joint effort, The Lion's Clubs from New Holstein and Kiel , along with a New Holstein Scout doing his eagle project, constructed a rest station with roof, at this intersection. The area has been enhanced by a cement pad and walkway and a beautiful landscaping job. The site was dedicated on August 19, 2003 .
This Solomon Trail has been a wonderful idea! When the weather is good you will always see people walking or biking in both directions on the blacktop paths of this trail.
