Geocache Description:

This is a 3 stage multi-cache consisting of 2 micros and the final, which is a .30 caliber Ammo Box. There is parking available at the listed coordinates, but if the parking lot is full(during summer) there is more parking about 100 yards West of the IP.

Welcome to Eagle Lake and to what I hope will be a moderately challenging cache! Beginning cachers may find this one a bit more of a challenge than you Veteran cachers. That said, All 3 stages are located on a small strip of land between Rte. 74 and Eagle Lake, Hence the cache name. Furthermore, it is less than ½ mile roundtrip. So no long hike is needed. How hard can it be? Well first off, you will find that satellite reception tends to be a little tricky around here so in the name of safety I will tell you there is no need to be looking near the road and no need to go near the ledges that the swimmers jump off in the summer.

There are several good herd paths that meander through this area so it’s not really a bushwhack. Just watch your step as the terrain can get tricky in some spots. As for the tricky reception, well we can’t do anything about that, but I tested all the waypoints several times each and my GPS directed me to the general locations.

As I intended this to be somewhat of a challenge, I’m not going to give any hints. However, you may e-mail me and request them if need be.
