One thing I did notice that seems to be missing from the area is some of the facilities that The Janitor likes to maintain.
Well eventually, this trail will continue right on through to his facilities at the Dyin' for Rhea cache. I just can't wait for that and there's several reasons why...
- It's going to be an incredibly scenic trail
- I'm itching to be the first cacher to place a cache on it
- Theoretically you could ride or hike from Hwy 49 at the new Greenwood Creek parking lot to Rattlesnake Bar Campground. You'd have to be Lance Armstrong-like to do it, but it sure sounds good!
But for right now there's still a gate here, so I'll leave it as close as I can for the time being.
Work on the trail was supposed to be completed this past summer, but it obviously got delayed. In fact, there were NO trail work days all summer and just one in the fall (I was in Yosemite at the time).
