This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Someone appears to have eaten the goose (and most of the ducks, too), so you'll have to settle for a cache that's slightly smaller than an ammo box.

Horseshoe bend is a strange little community where, during high water years, the residents bait their ponds with more enthusiasm than skill. Most use ducks, but one homeowner was aiming for something a little larger...and less migratory. See if you can find it.

This cache is dedicated to the memory of Chocolate the Uncommon Murre. In 2000, Audubon-California invited Scary-Cookie and other children to refurbish their Common Murre decoys, which they use to encourage this black and white seabird to nest on unpopulated islands. The children responded with great enthusiam and creativity, creating a whole colony of mutant murres. While it's likely that these birds were quickly euthanized, we like to imagine an island somewhere in the pacific that's dedicated to the preservation of Uncommon Murres. Chocolate, as the most uncommon murre, is their queen.
