Geocache Description:

Final cache location is on SGL 114. Coordinates are for Parking area and 1st cache. Congradulations to Carels for FTF. They weren't spooked, and braved the cold weather.

************SPECIAL NOTE*************
Due to the following reasons I will be archiving 1)SPOOK HOLLOW CACHE GC10B81 and 2) PUZZLE POINT GC1GJEF on Saturday, April 3, 2010.
•Inactivity
•Increased activity of water trucks using the narrow road.
•Stream crossing for Spook Hollow becoming old.
If anyone is interested, I will lead a hike to both caches on 4/3/10. I will be at the parking coordinates at 10 am. Please email me to let me know who will be attending. Parking is limited to approximately 10 cars.
***************************************************

The coordinates above are for the parking lot and the first cache in this mult-cache. the Parking area can be accessed from Water Company Road off of PA Route 973, in between Salladasburg and Cogan Station. The road is marked, but can easily be passed by. The final cache is located on a little known State Game Land 114. Access to the SGL has been granted through Jersey Shore Water Company property. It is very important that you abide by their rules and all posted signs. Please do not litter and practice CITO.
This is not a cache-n-dash, you will have an approximately 2 mile round trip. I would allot at least an hour to hour and 45 minutes to complete the trip. Approximately 1 mile of the trip is on level gravel road, 1/2 mile is gradual uphill and 1/2 mile gradual down hill. Other than the gravel road, the rest of the trail is a wide logging trail. None of the cache hides are “evil” and should be easily found with the clues provided. All the caches except for one are right along the trail. The one that is not on the trail, is within 30 yards of the trail. No to light bushwhacking is required.
Sound pretty easy? Well 95% of the trip is very easy. What about the other 5%? Well, this is where some of you will be “spooked”. I’ll be honest, this cache may not be good for small children, the less nimble and the less adventurous. The good thing is that you have less than a 1/2 mile easy level walk through a forest area before you have to make your decision to continue on or not. There will be a log book at this stop to chronicle whether your going on, or are heading back to the car. I can’t tell you what to do, but I can say that Hunter’s are not spooked and regularly trudge on. Many of you will consider this the most fun part of the trip and look forward to the return. If you go slow, the spooks may not get to you!
Even though this area is not heavily hunted, it would be wise to wear orange or bright colors. It may be wise to avoid this cache during the 3 days of Bear season and the 2 weeks of rifle season for Deer. During the warmer months please be aware that there could be snakes along the trail.
Final cache is a well stocked .50 cal ammo can with a FTF prize.
Use the hints. GPS will only get you close. Mountains and tree cover will hamper your reception.
