Cromwell Landing Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

paddlehikers: A check on the cache today revealed that not only was it missing, but so was everything else including the structure it was affixed to. That is not all bad because frankly the park is more picturesque as a result. But alas... time to put this one to bed.

Geocache Description:

A very pleasant picnic spot along the Connecticut River.

From this vantage point along the banks of this wide and deep tidal river you can almost see the tall, weather-beaten cargo ships billow north against the current. Some brought forth simple treasures from far off lands such as nutmeg, for which this state would become known. Others came to extract our natural wonders such as brownstone, feldspar, prime oakum, or perhaps simply the spawning shad. Bring a sandwich. Sit at a table overlooking the water. Ponder those "simpler" times and imagine how difficult they must have been. Explore history. Embrace and enjoy the present. Help to preserve the future.

This cache is a micro hidden (hopefully) out of the flood's reach. It offers nothing but a view, not unlike that enjoyed by the native Americans who relied upon this habitat to simply survive. Bring your own pencil.
