Geocache Description:

Desert Suduku

Sudoku (?? sudoku ?) listen  is a logic-based placement puzzle. The objective is to fill the 9x9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3x3 boxes contains the digits 1 to 9. The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid so that there is only one solution.

Completed Sudoku puzzles are a type of Latin square, with an additional constraint on the contents of individual regions. Leonhard Euler is sometimes cited as the source of the puzzle, based on his work with Latin squares[1].

The modern puzzle was invented by an American, Howard Garns, in 1979 and published by Dell Magazines under the name "Number Place"[2]. It became popular in Japan in 1986, when it was published by Nikoli and given the name Sudoku. It became an international hit in 2005.

There is a twist to this Suduku Square:  The characters are not in Japanese but in Chinese!

Your quest, if you choose to accept it, is to discover the secret behind the Chinese characters, solve the Suduku, then find your Cache!!!

(Disregard English Letters until after you solve the Suduku-- the letters are the key to the waypoint)

HINT: You may want to print this page, Translate the Chinese numbers, use White Out, make a couple of copies, then solve the Suduku!

(If you are new to Suduku, perhaps practice with beginner puzzles, try the link below!)

Remember:  Each 3x3 grid may only contain the numbers 1-9 one time each, and 1-9 may only appear one time in each row and one time in each column!  This puzzle has only ONE POSSIBLE SOLUTION!
