Tree Shadow Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Three Boys a Caching: Regret this one must be archived.

We weren't able to find an area near this site with the same attraction and theme as this cache, while keeping away from the homeless camps that have sprung up and the upcoming power line installation. We may revisit the site for a new cache after the power line work is complete.

Thanks to all for taking the time to find it. We're glad you enjoyed it.

Alternative parking for the Shadow series caches can be found at N 38° 26.950' W 77° 24.913'. Alternative parking site makes for a bit steeper travel and has no established trail until you get to creek level.

This is a new 'Shadows of Shadow Woods' series cache. It’s my first cache, but I’ve learned a lot, quickly, from the local cachers. I hope you like it, and appreciate your comments on the hide.

Like the other ‘Shadows of Shadow Woods’ caches, this is meant to be a challenge. Creek crossing(s) should be no problem. Please use sound judgment if there has been recent heavy rain. You can’t get from one ‘Shadow’ cache to another without crossing at least one creek. However, you can get to all the ‘Shadow’ caches independently without worrying about getting your feet wet, so long as you do your homework.

Early part of trail is near residential back yards. This area occasionally sees a few paintballers, hunters and trail walkers/riders.

If you're a civil war buff, check out N 38° 27.050' W 77° 24.757' This could be an old bunker, or just a hole. If you have a metal detector, I’d be curious to see if there’s anything historic there.

Cache placed 1/16/2007 in a small (~3"x5") Rubbermaid container.

While getting to the site can be pet friendly, the cache itself would be hard for HenriPudelhund to reach without assistance.

Congrats to RES414CUE for his string of five FTFs, including the two new Shadow caches.
