Geocache Description:

A great little picnic area hidden just off the Kings Highway!

The cache is located withing the Mongarlowe River picnic area which is very well appointed with picnic tables, free gas BBQs and a modern amenities block which has disabled facilities and is nearby to the Waratah Walk, a looped walk that meanders down through Monga and Gippsland waratahs to the bank of the Mongarlowe river. The waratahs are in bloom between October and December but the walk is also great throughout the year for bird watching when the birds come to the river to feed on nectar and insects.

The cache is accessible along an unsealed all-weather road which should be suitable for all but the lowest of cars and is a small (200ml) Sistema container with only a log book, pencil & sharpener, not much room for swaps in this one. Please use a little stealth if there are muggles around and re-hide the cache well!
