Nice walking path and very little bushwhacking.
The name of this cache has an interesting tale. About one year ago, while we were exploring this area, a figure appeared, walking out of the woods and down one of the sandy trails. Not very unusual until you noticed it was a tall, black, distinguished man, dressed in long black waste coat of the 1800’s and carrying a Doctor’s satchel! Was this Dr. Still, the renowned Dr. of the pines? He gave us a blank look, said nothing and turned off the trail into the woods. We followed but could not even see a deer trail where he walked. When you see where this cache is placed it is very unlikely someone just wondered in there. It is well off any hardtop roads and there are no homes or villages close by. As we later found out, we were not the first to have this experience. There is more to the story but that will have to wait for another day….. !!
This is a small container hidden in the “sort of” traditional way. FTF will have a choice of a Gold Bermuda Coin or the new Geoswag Americana Signal Pin. Have fun, keep an eye out for the good Dr, & leave the woods as you found it. Wear your hunter orange and cache safely We would recommend 2WD vehicles to park at 39.44.586 074.45.418 as there is some severe sugar sand in this area.
