Park at "Beach". Find first three in the series while hiking to this location.
This is the FOURTH of a series of CIT "Family Friendly" caches. The "Carney Island Trail" series, "CIT", is designed to make this hike interesting for the whole family. The trail is wide and caches are within sight of the trail. Caches are easy to find ammo boxes named for different forest creatures. Ammo boxes are loaded with family friendly items, especially for the youngsters. Each creature stands "Guard" over his cache to protect his forest friends and relatives. Please don't take the "Guard". One of his friends or relatives will be delighted to visit you in your home or to be placed in another cache.
If you want to introduce youngsters to geocaching and at the same time let them experience the old time natural Florida, then take them on this hike. As with any hike in the forest, be aware of any wild animals that seem friendly or agressive. All animals in this forest are WILD so do not feed them or get near them. Enjoy seeing the animals and their tracks along the trail. Look for the remnents of some of the first oranges grown in Florida. Read the placards along the way. If you meet the park supervisor, say hello. Park personnel are very receptive to geocaching. ADDED GPS is erratic because of the trees. North could be as high as N 29° 00.665.
