Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the new park "Peachtree Ridge Park in Gwinnett County. There are many things to do in this park; football, baseball, soccer, basketball, track, fishing, dog park, etc. It is the newest park in the county and has a lot of potential to be a giant in the Gwinnett County park System :D The location of this cache was a very frequented location for my childhood friends an myself. I can remember when I was in middle school and played in the creek that ran through this area, just below the cache. We spent much of our summers here and a lot of our time after school here too. I can recall a time of the '93 blizzard when I took a friend with me to the falls and the near by hill side had and endless row of icicles hanging along the rock face. I was very disappointed today when I went to place this and saw that the creek has since dried up due to the drought. I'm hoping in the years to come the creek will come back and improve the area that surrounds this cache! Note the cache is located in a heavily wooded area and the GPS readings can be way off at times. Here is some info that I pulled off the parks website: http://pryaa.com Peachtree Ridge Park, which is scheduled to open in Spring of 2008, is a 155 acre park located off Wildwood Rd and Suwanee Creek Road behind Peachtree Ridge High School. The park will provide youth recreational fields for the PRYAA Lions. It will have a regulation size football field including a concession building and cheerleading practice space. It will also include two regulation size soccer fields, a baseball and softball complex with a 225' grass ball field, a 200' grass ball field, a 150' grass ball field and a 200' Special Needs ball field. NOTE that the most direct way is NOT the best approach. Lake Louella which is located within the park will have a 20' shelter, fishing deck area and plenty of benches and quiet spots to enjoy the lake area. The park has a "rolling lawn area" for unstructured play, rolling, sunbathing, kite flying, views to Lake Louella, and blanket picnics. There will also be a "Wetlands Section", "Fern Valley Section" with a multi use trail areas throughout the park.
