I recently came across a well established trail in the upper
northeast portion of Wilder Ranch State Park. The trail seems to
follow a ridge, and as I was exploring the trail further along
where its still very discernable I found an interestingly shaped
tree that, while not a willow, made me think of the Whomping Willow
of the Harry Potter books.
I have added some waypoints to help you find parking at UCSC (N
36° 59.809 W 122° 04.041) and to find the trailhead I recommend (N
36° 59.764 W 122° 04.154) in case you are interested in a short
hike in the woods.
GPS reception being what it is under the trees, don't be shy about
using the hint.
Enjoy! And happy caching!
