Geocache Description:


This cache looks out over Lake Callide.
Callide Dam was completed in 1965 to supply water to the Callide A Power Station and for irrigation in the Callide Valley. Gates were added to the spillway in 1988 to increase its capacity.
The Lake is kept well stocked with fish by the local fish stocking group and quite large barramundi are being caught. A permit is required for fishing.
Water sking and other boating activities are also carried out the Lake, the area having picnic spots, shelter sheds and toilets.
