Welcome to Goldie Lock N Lock and the Three Bears Cache series (GLATTB). This is a series of three caches and a bonus cache hidden in Lake Bob Sandlin State Park. Each of the bears will give you a bit of information which will help you find the bonus cache. The three caches are:
Pooh Bear Cache - GLATTB
Smokey Bear Cache - GLATTB
Yogi Bear Cache – GLATTB
The Bonus cache is Goldie Lock N Lock and the Three Bears Bonus Cache.
To find these caches you will need to travel to the Lake Bob Sandlin State Park. Being a state park you will need to pay a two dollar per person entrance fee, but with four caches, that works out to about fifty cents per head per cache. And if you haven’t been here before, there are currently five other caches in the park. That makes it less than twenty-five cents per head per cache.
There is plenty of parking at N 33:03.527 W 095:05.430. This is a good place to park because it is very near the trailhead. All of the caches are along this nature trail. The trail is an easy hike (no more than a 2.5 – most is a 1.5), and the caches are generally pretty close to the trail (no more than 150 feet from trail to treasure, if memory serves).
The containers for the three bears are identical, so once you find one, you will know what you are looking for. The good news is that they are not micros in the woods. They are even larger than smalls.
You will need to bring you own pen. At each cache, sign the log and copy down the information which will lead you to the bonus cache. Yes, I know this is really just a multi-stage cache in disguise, but would you rather log one multi for $2.00 or four traditional caches for $0.50 each? I thought so.
Please observe all of the posted notices. Most of all enjoy your walk in the park, but stay alert. This is a nature park, and things that slither and things that bite call this place home. This cache has been approved by the park staff.
