Geocache Description:

Come one, come all to the first Annual Geocaching Easter Egg Hunt. There will be a pot luck lunch following the hunt. Maybe after the Egg Hunt we could hunt some “fox” (Bring a radio!)

Meet at 9:00 AM at the Woodside Picnic Area in Scott County Park on 24 March 2007 for the hunt.

If you would just like to come for the potluck, then make sure you check the message board at the main entrance off of 270th Street for the location of the pot luck lunch. If there's no message, then come on down and eat with us at Woodside.

Peter Cottontail has hidden six caches of various styles throughout the park. He has been clever and left clues in the caches to find each one. Luckily, I ran into him this morning and he gave me twelve packets to find the caches. Inside each cache is an Easter egg. You must retrieve one egg from each cache to complete the hunt. He promised me that you would have to use the whole of your vast geocaching experience to finish the hunt.

This is a Team event with a team of four being about right.

The first six teams will begin at 0900 with each team beginning at a different “cache”. If there are more than six teams, teams 7-12 will be released at 9:30 AM to begin the hunt. There will be sealed hints provided which must be returned unopened or a penalty of ten minutes per hint will be assessed.

Teams 5 and 10 will be reserved for those individuals who show up without a team.

The team with the fastest time will be declared victorious at the pot luck lunch and be given the grand award!

The pot luck will be held at the Woodside Picnic Area. If the weather turns on us we will seek a shelter in the park. I will be providing chili.

Difficulty and Terrain are for finding the Picnic Area. Temporary caches will be rated higher!
