THIS CACHE IS LOCATED IN A BEAUTIFUL PART OF THE WORLD. HOWEVER TEAM STILLLOOKIN CAN TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS WHILST THERE. THE AREA HAS HIGH UNFENCED CLIFFS WHICH CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
This is the first cache in a series we plan to place on the ridge line that makes up the Great Dividing Range. You will probably access this cache following the track which runs along a ridge line, this ridge line is the Great Dividing Range and where the cache is located is about 1030 metres above sea level. The cache is a simple small regular cache not that far from a main road. The cache it self is just on what would be classified as the western side of the water shed. The cache would be an excellent MTB cache but can be accessed by most types of vehicle including high ground clearance 2WD in the dry. An easy starting point for this cache is at the TIME TO SIT geocache by Josh-Penny Right Way but of course there are many ways to approach a cache.
The Great Dividing Range is the main watershed of eastern Australia. It comprises a series of plateaus and mountain ranges which run roughly parallel to the east coast of Australia. The Great Dividing Range begins in the north on the Cape York Peninsula in Queensland and heads south to become the Australian Alps near the New South Wales–Victoria border then heads west in Victoria ending in the Grampians. The range stretches for about 3,700 km.
It would be great if other caching teams could place caches in this theme in their local areas along the range giving what could become quite a spectacular series of caches.
