This is a family
friendly meet and greet at Angel's Island Coffee shop. Come
ready to swap stories and share ideas. If you're new to
geocaching, this is a great opportunity to attach faces to
the names you have been seeing on cache listings and logs. It
will also be a great opportunity for newbies to come learn
from the more seasoned addicts, err cachers. When? Monday,
February 26, 2007, 7pm-9pm.
It may be cool outside,
unless of coarse global warming is in effect; so let's gather
somewhere to warm up a little. I'm thinking a trip to the islands,
beaches, the nice sea breeze...... hmmmm..... Sounds nice, but a
bit impractical for a local event. How about we meet at Angel's
Island Coffee on South Memorial Parkway just south of Martin Road?
Angel's has a great collection of warm drinks for all tastes.
Coffee's, Espresso's, Hot Chocolate, Hot Tea, etc. In case global
warming attacks, she has a nice collections of cool refreshment as
well. Add to that a small collection of tasty treats, and this
makes a great place to hang out and chat. (Not to mention that the
atmosphere here is great!)
Several cool door prizes have already been donated, and others are
in the works. There will be a couple of event caches. All this is
cool, but I expect that the highlight of this event will be the
premier screening of the video taken of the Journey into Mordor
Event (GCVV8N). The teaser trail of this video has been released,
so run on over to You Tube and wet your appetite for this work of
cinematic genius.

Well the event has come
and gone. Through no fault of my own, this ended up being a
smash event. Thanks to all who contributed - to our local
cinematic crew, our benefactors, and those providing the AGA banner
for the event. Thanks so much to all for being gracious with
me as I learn to host these things, and I look forward to doing so
again sometime in the future.
