Dizz-Knee Challenge Part VIII NJ State Map

Collect Your County Cache

This is the eighth in a series of twenty-one caches that will be placed in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties. This one completes the Hunterdon County requirement. This cache is located in scenic Amwell Lake. A certain number of people completing the Dizz-Knee challenge will be given a new, commemorative geocaching coin, trackable on geocaching.com, unactivated.

Update: February 2, 2008
The old cache was on private property, unbeknownst to me at the time. Since my last visit over nine months ago, the trees in the immediate area of the old hide are now littered with no trespassing signs.
The cache is now located just .13 from the parking lot. Simply walk straight, with the lake on your left. Travel up the couple of steps and walk into the wood. The cache is in a rotted stump in the corner area of this piece of land. It is not in the concrete cylinder or in any of the metal garbage thrown back there. Please be careful and take care to try and return the cache as you found it so it will last.

County Cache Facts: I was off from work today and knew I had to get busy placing the rest of my Dizz-Knee caches so I decided that Hunterdon & Somerset Counties would be next on the list. I have to say, these counties are quite beautiful and nothing like my home county of Camden.

The first thing I did was visit a cache in the immediate area, .12 miles from my cache. The cache I chased down, Dinosaurs Are Cool! by wheelwefyndit, was a lot of fun. This cache is .18 miles from the trailhead coordinates while mine is .16 from the trailhead.

My cache isn't that difficult of a find; it is exactly where you think it is. Watch the stickers and ivy, although they are not too bad. If you have a decent camera, bring it, this is a beautiful area with many photo opportunities. Anyway, good luck, be careful and say hi to the deer as there are a lot of them.
