Geocache Description:

A cool little stop over between Everglades City and Immokalee.

This cache commemorates the first commercial oil well in Florida. Drilled in 1943 by the Humble Oil and Refining Company, it was the only active oil field in the state until the mid 1960's.

Your caching intuition will lead you right to the cache.

Bring a lunch so that you can hang out here for a little while.

You will also need your own writing stick.

There's an unactivated Not Another Micro! coin for the FTF. Congratulations go to Sethsdad and crew for being the FTF. And betterluck to Wandering Glider next time.

Have fun and good luck. Check out the photo below for a view of what we saw on the day the cache was placed.
