Scenic Picnic is located at a beautiful scenic spot. On a clear day you can see past the Sutter Buttes and up into the Sierras.
There are several different approaches to it. The easiest is to come up the road starting at the white gate off of Spenceville Road. For those with a little more adventure and time start at the Long Ravine Road Start Point (LLRSP). Follow the reference points if you are unsure about which trail to take. Bring a lunch and picnic near the cache. It may be a little breezy so bring a light jacket. The hike up to the 776 ft summit gently climbs. Our Clan made a picnic of it. The kids who walked were from ages 4 to 8. They loved it. Most should be able to make the hike. Watch for loose rocks, loose dirt, rattle snakes, and the many bovine land mines along the trail. Take water and be cautious if you have health problems. The cache is regular size. There is a Log but no Pen. The kids put some items in it: Rubber Bat, Gold Ribbon, Baseball Card, Burger King Bobble Head, Animal Stick Efigy. Please cammo it up after you've found it. There are plenty of muggles to find it.
