I can hear the mission bells ringing. Another night of runnin' is another day I don't dance the hangman's noose. All roads lead back to Tucson. I pray Mother Maria, I don't find the noose on. La policia's askin' questions. Say you don't know nothin' and you ain't seen a thing.
So now I'm wanted in fifty states and in Mexico. Them wanted posters stretch from Alaska down to Tierra Del Fuego. Grab my hand and we'll make a stand on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande. I got a little money and a place to go where you can live high while I lay low.
Now my second home is a third world cantina, and I long for my Connecticut Peacemaker roots. But my heart and my tongue have conspired to jail me. And a full moon is on the rise, the Patron Saint of Love and Lies. I've had enough of the Payoffs and the Alibis, the Shotgun Shells and Four Wheel Drives.
