Geocache Description:

Placed with permission from the Goshen Land Trust. An easy walk along a trail set in North West CT "Big Sky Country"

This cache is located in the Fox Brook Nature Preserve, the most northerly section of the contiguous property that is the Goshen Land Trust. The trail links Pie Hill Rd Marsh in the south, crosses Pie Hill Rd not far from the Goshen Fair Grounds, and then enters the Kobylenski Wilderness Area. From there it travels north following the river and a number of low level wetland areas, skirting the Torrington Country Club property. The trail crosses RT 4, where it enters the Fox Brook Preserve before terminating at yet another low level marshy area. Visit the GLT website at (visit link)

Park at: N 41.50.177, W 73.12.894. This is a small parking area just big enough for one car on the right hand side of RT 4 if you are heading west. The Fox Brook area is a place of real natural beauty, I believe especially in the winter. Rex and I have been planning a cache here since we first discovered it when snowshoeing behind his house. The swamp tried to eat Rex on that day as it did the day we planted this cache. If you do this cache you will understand why we named it as we did. We received permission from the GLT to plant this cache here. As far as we know it is free from the nefarious flora that seems to have sprung up at another local nature area. Enjoy!

Original contents of cache: A $5 dollar scratch lotto ticket, a copy of Backpacker Magazine, a key chain, pocket knife, Star wars Figurines, an extra log book for starting another cache, a small green rock, and a Six Flags Travel Bug

The Cache is a 50 ammo box so bigger items should fit. There is Scratch ticket for the first finder.
