Geocache Description:

This is a historical and educational multi-cache of the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) displaying their craftsmanship and development of Lake Greenwood State Recreation Area. The waypoints will take you approx. over 1 mile through Lake Greenwood SRA. There are several kiosks located along the park's roads that are important to answer the quiz, so have fun, learn something interesting, enjoy the park, and enjoy the interactive educational tour of the CCC located in the Drummond Center.

Lake Greenwood State Recreation Area was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and given to the state in 1938. The park is located in Greenwood County, in the Old 96 District Tourism Region. The 914-acre park covers five peninsulas that provide 212 miles of shoreline, perfect for lakeside camping, fishing, picnicking, and boating.

There is a fee to enter the park: $2.00 per person over 15, $1.25 per person over the age of 65, and free for anyone under 15.

There is no need to get off-trail since the waypoints are kiosks located along the paved roads and are not hard at all to locate.
