Unarchive a geocache

Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. Only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ can unarchive caches. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if the cache meets the current geocaching guidelines.

If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Read the clue, there is no need to get off the main path or onto a garden bed to find this one.

Once the correct car park is found, the 250M walk to the cache is easy. Except in the wettest of conditions it is wheel chair accessible. Bring bug spray.

***** IMPORTANT *****

Scotties Hide was once just that, a bird watching hide.

Over the years it has evolved into a very nice lookout complete with all weather footpaths and picnic tables. The lookout is maintained by a volunteer group so please respect the area. If you find rubish take it home.

Make sure you take some time to enjoy this very quiet spot. It is not uncommon to see humpty dudes (people from Humpty Doo) toasting the end of the day with a glass of bubbly happily enjoying the sunset, it’s that kind of place.

To help enjoy the hide I have put a set of binoculars in the cache. Use them, but please make sure they are returned to the cache for others to enjoy.

If you’re lucky you may even see the top end icon, the Jabiru.

The more adventurous can try out Scotties Walk, a circuit of the lagoon. A mud map of the walk can be found near the main entrance to the reserve, not far from the start of the lookout walk. For fun, see if you can spot the cane toad trap to the south of the lookout.

Have fun and enjoy. This one is pretty safe for geokiddies too.
