The trail head is directly behind the Old Country Buffet Restaurant in Onalaska. Suggested parking is at N43.52.357 W091.11.395
The terrain is rated at a 4. It can range from 2.5 to 4 depending on the time of year and other factors. You may have to bushwack through tall grass. You may experience wet marshy ground. You may experience ticks in season. You might find brambles. You may slip and slide in the snow. You may experience none of the above, as well. You may have fun.

From the top of the knoll, you should be able to see the La Crosse River. (If you're into some hiking after finding the cache, the trail you came in on will take you to and then along the river for quite some distance.)
