A pleasant park with flat gravel walking paths and lawned areas.
August Scholz established a wheelwright business in 1872 in the tiny cottage found at this park. Several years later, he purchased the Blacksmith Shop which was operating next door. Many of the buggies, wagons etc and farming implements used in this district were made here.
The business closed in 1966, and despite good offers being made by private developers to August’s grandsons, they finally sold it to the District Council of Riverton, on the proviso that the buildings be preserved.
The Scholz Park museum was opened on 15 March 1981.
The cottage contains the original furniture and possessions of the Scholz family, and in this cottage, 6 children were raised.
The museum is on Sundays from 1-4pm, however even if not open, the complex is situated in a lovely little park with some old equipment outside which you can wander amongst.
This can be a high muggle area, please take care when retrieving and replacing the cache - it was nearly muggled within 5 minutes of putting it out!
