This Cache is located at Millcreek county park, also known as the Talmage dams approx 2 mi from Ukiah out Talmage Rd then right to Mill Creek Rd. The cache is an Altoids tin.
To locate this cache you will have to venture out onto the dam, during summer hours there may be people swimming here. Great swimming spot and you can jump off the valves, but don’t try the water slide (ive only heard).

Mill creek dams were built around 1910, there were 3 original dams built w/in 1 mi. here ranging from 75ft X 200ft to 50 X 50ft. They were built to supply the state hospital with water that closed in the 70’s. The dams were turned over to Mendocino County with the condition that it will be used for recreational purposes for the next 25 years. As of now the 3rd lower dam is abandoned and overflowing with silt and the upper dam is broken as well.
The outcome of these dams are yet to be decided----Look forward for the other caches in this area that will provide more info on the plans and what happened to the other dams in this area.
After the find you can travel the vintage trails that are around here and up on the hills behind the dam-also at the upper dam, there is also a picnic area and park past the upper dam.
If anyone would like to see a stream survey of this area from 1958 I would be happy to email it to you-it is pretty interesting.
You can park right next to the Dam- there is a very narrow pullout, otherwise use the next pull out.
