Chuck Walla: Greetings from Geocaching.com!

Since you have not responded to my reviewer log about your cache, the cache has been archived.

Some time ago, I posted a note to your cache page requesting a response from you to post what you were planning to do with the cache on the page and to send me a note. I have no record of a response, and no response tells me that you are not planning on replacing or repairing this cache. If I am wrong with that assumption, please let me know promptly. Geocache Description:

Located in Village Creek State Park, this is a multi-cache. Geocachers should pick up a trail map and cache information sheet at the Visitor Center. This course starts on the bike trail and includes four caches. The entire course is about 3 miles.

Start on the biking trail for stage one; find the second cache on the Lake Dunn trail; find the third and final stages on the Military Road trail.

The first and the final stage have log books and trade items. For all stages, you are looking for a PVC canister that is about 18 inches long and six inches in diameter and has been camouflaged.

At Village Creek State Park you can enjoy the unique geology of Crowley's Ridge, a landform of rolling hills in eastern Arkansas's Mississippi Alluvial Plain. A geologic anomaly, the ridge is covered with a lush hardwood forest featuring oak, sugar maple, beech, butternut, and tulip poplar. Park interpretive programs and exhibits share the story of the natural and cultural heritage of Crowley's Ridge. Five park trails totaling five miles allow hikers the opportunity to explore this forest on their own, or on guided trail walks with park interpreters. Anglers can fish for bass, bream, catfish, and crappie at the park's two lakes, Lake Austell and Lake Dunn. Launch ramps, boat docks, bait, fishing boats, electric motors, and pedal boats are available late-spring through Labor Day.

This cache is part of a series in the “Cache in with The Natural State,” program of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. You’ll find unique trade items representing Arkansas tourism attractions in this series of caches. Some prizes for trade must be redeemed at the office of Village Creek State Park (only one per person allowed). The cache is monitored weekly. Find more information on the program at www.Arkansas.com.

This cache is placed with permission of Village Creek State Park, Permit# PT-55-08. Village Creek State Park is located two hours east of Little Rock, Arkansas, or one hour west of Memphis, Tennessee. Take Exit #242 off I-40 at Forrest City and go 13 miles north on Ark. 284 to the park.
