Geocache Description:

Near a popular fishing, swimming, and camping area.

Located on the upper reaches of the Etowah River in Lumpkin county. This area has long been popular with the locals for fishing, swimming, camping, and just-getting-away-from-it-all for many years. Rhododendron line the banks of the river, and it is also possible to wade out to some of the boulders mid stream, but beware the current and slippery bottom! Some of the semi-permanent campsites may be seen on the way in. Stealth may be required in season -- appearing to be another fisherman looking for your next 'hole' suggests itself as a possibility.

The route in can be accessed either on foot, or 4WD. The first part of the trek in can be very treacherous after a rain, due mostly to the 4WD traffic.

A doff of le Chapeau to Baerman for FTF!

Small note: As required by the USFS for caches hidden in the Chattahoochee National Forest the cache is prominantly labeled as a geocache and the label includes the GC10W49 waypoint number and the owner's e-mail address. Enjoy!

Please pay attention to the geocaching rules! Phat.bak & Trez* found a KNIFE in this cache, which is a FORBIDDEN item. IN THE FUTURE, I WILL DISALLOW ANY AND ALL ENTRIES WHICH MENTION OR FAIL TO MENTION DISCOVERY OR PLACEMENT OF DISALLOWED ITEMS!!!! (If you mention removal of said items, of course, this proscription does NOT apply) ..
