Geocache Description:

On February 24th of 1799 tremendous ice floes floated on the river Elbe. Many of them reached a thickness of half a meter and a length of five meters. The level of Elbe was at 8,24 m. It was one of the worst known spring highwaters at the Elbe. On this day the boatman Herrmann saved two boatmen from Prossen from the floods.
In 1869 the son of the hero, the sculptor Joseph Herrmann, put up a little pavillon not far from the runnel Trille. Inside you can see a relief showing the heroic deed.

Starting at the coordinates above go 135 meter in direction 43 degree.
