This is a CITO event that is intended to clean up an area of the Lackawanna River before Riverfest 2007.
It's Springtime and time for a good clean up!
Marywood University's Pugwash Eco Club is sponsering this event as a joint venture with the Lackawanna River Corridor Association (LRCA).
THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CHANGES TO THE LOCATION.
PLEASE READ:
We'll be meeting APPROXIMATELY ACCROSS THE STREET FROM the posted coordinates at about ten o'clock. Parking will be available ON THE SIDE STREETS.
We'll work for until noon and then have a cookout. At one o'clock we'll resume work for another hour or two.
Work will include mostly a general litter cleanup but we also hope to move out some old tires and kitchen appliances, i.e. refrigerators so it would be greatly appreciated if someone would bring a pickup truck.
For the cookout, we'll be eating AT OR AROUND the posted coordinates. If every person can bring an item, i.e. soda, chips, hamburger/hotdog buns, etc., that would be great.
You don't have to stay for the entire event but please tell us when you intend to work, for how long, what equipment you can bring, and what food you can bring.
I'll be treating this as a meet and great event also so bring TBs to trade.
Every year the LRCA host a Riverfest which includes a Canoe-a-thon, a River Regatta, and a Duck-a-thon along with other festivities intended to raise awareness about this important and fragile ecosystem.
This year's Riverfest will be on Saturday, May 12, 2007

Pugwash club should be able to provide burgers and buns but I need to check things further.
I (Elangomat191) should be able to get a grill down there for lunch.
I will be able to bring down a table to set up the food on.
I won't be able to bring chairs so please consider bringing camping or lawn chairs.
