Horseshoeing Around Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

WazzaAndWenches: A check today confirmed the area is still inaccessible. The boardwalk is locked off after suffering structural damage during the January floods. As it is now more than six months after the damage occurred and the Shire has not yet started the repairs I can not see the area being reopened in the near future.

Therefore I am archiving this cache.

Geocache Description:

Quiet setting in the tourist towns of Echuca-Moama

It might be a bit bumpy but you should be able to get a wheelchair along almost all the path. The final location is not wheelchair friendly though.

Very near the posted coordinates you will see two large structures, one much newer than the other. The total number of piers under the newer of the two structures = P.

Head approx. 80 metres on a bearing of P degrees and read the three information signs. One of them will tell you about the number of wetlands between Lake Hume and the mouth of the Murray River (ABCD)

Wp2 is at 36deg BA.CA(A-4)' / 144deg 45.(G-4)(H-5)(I)' There is not a lot of point in walking this path if you don't learn a bit along the way. Read and count the total number of shiny silver/grey plaques as you travel.

At WP2 you can clearly see the effect of the current drought. Its a long way to the bottom from where you are standing and it will be a long time before the bottom is again near the top.

Did you read the info signs carefully? There are (E) letters in the humorous surname of the Japanese market gardener. Reverend Charles Davis stayed at Moama from 1890 to FGHI.

Take another stroll. The cache is at 36deg 0A.0(F+2)(H-2)' 144deg 45.(E-7)(E-12)(A-4)'

Original contents include a log book and scribble stick and a variety of small tokens and some ...

CFA "Dial 000" stickers (Please take one and put it on your phone)

Enjoy the hunt.
