This parcel of land off Cleland Road in Chapel Hill had been owned by a man who lived in this neighborhood. When he passed away, his heirs wanted to develop the land and build some houses. The neighborhood was unhappy about this and asked if the town would by this land and keep it undeveloped. In In January 1998, the Chapel Hill Town Council purchased this approximately 6 acres of open space adjacent to Cleland Road, Roberson Drive and Oakwood Drive for $265,000. Enjoy.
Please rehide well. I'm not sure how often this spot is visited by neighborhood kids!
