This is an offset hide. The listed coordinates will take you to a footbridge leading to the Mercer County Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
The original Purple Heart, designated as the Badge of Military Merit, was established by George Washington–then the commander-in-chief of the Continental Army–by order from his Newburgh, New York headquarters on 7 August 1782.
You are looking for the Purple Heart medal. Once you find it, mark your spot and project a bearing of 212 degrees at a distance of 140 feet to find the hide. Navigate (walk) there by following a bearing/heading (Hint: Utilize features of your GPS unit, projecting a waypoint, following the heading, or use a compass.)
