Geocache Description:


This cache is placed in tribute to the winners of the 1980 NCAA basketball tournament. The University of Louisville men’s basketball team finished the season with 33 wins and 3 loses after defeating UCLA in the title game that year by a score of 59-54.

The men’s team was lead by their head coach, Denny Crum, who retired from UofL in 2001. Members of this championship team consist of Darrell Griffith, Jerry Eaves, Wiley Brown, Derek Smith, Rodney McCray, Scooter McCray, Roger Burkman, Pancho Wright,Tony Branch, Daryl Cleveland, Greg Deuser, Marty Pullman, and Steve Clark.

This is a 2-stage multicache located on the UofL campus, so parking is at a premium during the weekday. The first stage contains the coordinates that will lead you to the final stage of a nice, but often overlooked tribute to this team. If you need to utilize the hint, beware that it pretty much gives away the final location. Good luck caching!
