Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the ABOVE Coordinates. It is a letterbox hybrid. Please follow the directions below to find the hidden treasure. This is at a State Park and a minimal fee is required for parking. The hours are from 7am to 7pm daily.

This cache is part of “The Roads of Retired Prof” puzzle cache. Inside the lid you will find information that you will need if you wish to complete that puzzle cache. Please make sure to note which cache this information came from, as it will be needed to complete the puzzle.

You do not need to complete “The Roads of Retired Prof” puzzle cache to find this treasure. It is a stand alone cache to honor “retiredprof” and his love for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Now, here is what you need to do:

Directions
You should be standing at a trail sign. Follow the trail. Your path will be covered at first and then open up before you come upon a trail marker (you are about half way there now).

Continue along the path. Cross the stream and head up the trail until you come to a large opening on your right hand side (about 300 feet as the crow flies from the beginning). Stop.

Look towards the lake and you should see a large snag that has crashed to earth. Go to the fork of that downed tree (basically where the base of the tree is/was) and you will find your treasure.

Inside the cache I have placed a stamp of the Hands, an ink pad, and a log book. Please DO NOT REMOVE THESE ITEMS. You can use the stamp and ink pad to stamp your own log book.

Since this is a letterbox please stamp something in the log to gain credit for this cache (I will be checking). The TRAKD boys love to see all of the letterbox stamps in the log so I will be bringing them around to check it out. Also, mark your geocaching name across your stamp.

This cache is dedicated to “retiredprof” and how he always lends a helping hand to a cacher in need (It was supposed to be an Alabama Crimson Tide Stamp but it never came in the mail).

As always… Enjoy
