Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT THE ABOVE LISTED COORDINATES, but you might find something there if you look.

I was getting close to what I thought was a pretty good milestone for me, 50 cache hides, and figured it was about time to put out a 5/5 to mark the occasion.

As a special incentive, a $50 bill was awarded to the First to Find. While that reward is no longer in place, this is still an opportunity to get to know the currency you may have in your pocket. In fact, this is a great place to start!

The secondary purpose of placing this 5/5, some would say a true 5/5 cause you ain't walking right up to it in winter, was to make a statement about muggle activity on low D/T caches. Ironic then that this cache, placed to minimize maintenance, has had more than most over the course of 3 years. There's no accounting for mother nature, especially when you place a cache in these extremes. There are now, potentially, three caches "down there", the most recent being the most likely to find.

Good luck cachers. Some of you are starting to understand how my brain works and if you go down that path you may just discover how nifty, fifty is!

First Iteration: This one was cinder-blocked and used a PVC screw-cap which you could unscrew manually.

Second Iteration: A pipe wrench or large channel locks is needed to open up this beefier version. There are instructions in the cache for resealing the container. Please follow to a tee. Also, the cap MUST thread down even to the container, if it isn't you've cross-threaded it and need to try again.

Third Iteration: Simplified version of the original with expandable cap. It may take some effort, but this one can also be opened without tools, provided you have some good forearm strength. Make sure you tighten it till your biceps burn before placing back in the water.
