Geocache Description:

This is a two-stage multi. The first stage requires gathering information from a tombstone in Cary Cemetery. The final stage is a nano (very small micro) placed on Cary Park District property. When logging at the final, initials-only are sufficient. Please replace the log paper in the lid before screwing into the base.

Morris S. M. West was born March 8, 18WX in New York into a teaching and farming family of Puritan descent. Morris learned the blacksmith trade in New York and moved to McHenry County in 1849. Shortly after arriving, Morris bought an 80-acre farm north of Cary Station for $5,000. Morris went on to marry Deborah, build a nice house, farm and blacksmith through the Civil War. On the farm they produced wheat, oats, corn, dairy products, poultry and eggs. They had three children. Morris died in 19YZ, and is buried in Cary Cemetery with his wife and three children.

The final stage is located at: N42 13.(75-WX)4 W88 14.(90-YZ)4 where you will find all that remains of M. S. M. West’s farm.
