Geocache Description:

Parking is very close. Takes about 15 seconds to reach the cache site. Terrain is dirt or snow depending on time of year. The 5 difficulty is because special tools are need to complete the cache find. The tool is there. Find the tool and the cache will be obvious.

Genesee is a Native American term for "shining valley". Genesee was the first mountain park purchased by the city of Denver, and is still the largest. It was homesteaded by a family named Patrick. They operated a toll both for the toll road heading to the gold fields in the late 1800's. In the 1870's one Patrick brother killed another Patrick brother. It was the first murder in Jefferson County. (www.legendsofamerica.com/la-ghostlyreader-co-1).

This is a nice diversion from the roaring traffic on I-70. The road loops and goes back to I-70.
