Meeting time is 6:30
pm on Tuesday April 17th. Space is limited so PLEASE
INDICATE THE NUMBER IN YOUR PARTY on your Will Attend log so
that we can keep track of how many will be attending. Family
friendly, all are welcome. Unfortunately they will not
allow children to stay past 9 pm. All "intents to attend" shall
be posted no later than 24 hours prior so that Bleachers can be
notified of attendance.
The location is Bleachers at CFB
Borden.
Most of the meal choices are approximately $8-$15. There is plenty
of free parking.
Join Geocachers from
around the area to swap travel bugs, geocoins and stories from some
of your and our greatest Geocaching adventures. Maybe get into a
deep discussion on the meaning of life, or find some help with a
Geocache that has you stumped.
We encourage you to check out the local websites Central Ontario Geocachers and COG forums.
Camp Borden is historically known as the birthplace of the Royal
Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and 16 Wing. Today it is home to the
Canadian Forces Support Training Group (CFSTG) and houses the
majority of the schools in the CF. Borden also has two public
museums; an armour museum and 16 Wing Air Force museum.
Borden is located next to the town of Angus approximately 16 km
west of Barrie, along Highway 90 and approximately 10km north of
the town of Alliston. There are only two entrances onto the
base; the Angus gate at the west end of Hwy 90, and the south
gate at the north end of County Road 15. For more information
about CFB Borden, CFSTG or 16 Wing please follow this link. This base is also the home of the
Canadian Forces Military Police Academy (CFMPA) this means that
all posted speed limits are enforced.
Tuesday night is
"buy one pound of wings, get the second pound
half price," night.
For those who have not geocached in this area, there are 15
caches within a 10 km radius of the pub.
Place this event on your
watchlist to be posted about any updates.
Reservation is under COG and we have a
section of the restaurant to ourselves.
