Hat Six Road is east of Casper. The cache location is not as difficult as the ratings make it sound if you are able to walk on sloped terrain. Last check of coordinates last three digits were .079' instead of .081'.
C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia series of books has a few references to hats that the characters wore. I thought it would be fun to list six of them. If you haven't read these books, I hope you get a chance to do so some day.
1. The Giant Rumblebuffin, a statue who is brought back to life, wears a cap that he touches repeatedly in salute to Aslan. (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe)
2. Edward was the only one of the four children wearing a hat the second time they entered Narnia. He had to carry their catch of fish in it. (Prince Caspian)
3. The cocky mouse Reepicheep had an interesting headpiece. “A thin band of gold passed round its head under one ear and over the other and in this was stuck a long crimson feather. (The Voyage of the Dawn Treader)
4. Puddleglum the Marshwiggle wears a tall pointed hat with a broad floppy brim. (The Silver Chair)
5. In the movie Narnia young Lucy is wearing a beret, but in this book Queen Lucy wore a helmet. (The Horse and His Boy)
6. Uncle Andrew’s godmother wore a bonnet. (The Magician’s Nephew-Book 6)
This cache container is now a 5 gallon bucket since the earlier container was not watertight. It is large enough to hold hats as long as they are not too big or too stiff. It is starting with six hats. If you take a hat, please replace it with another hat so there are always six hats in it. There will be additional items for general trading as well. There is a special coin in the plastic cache bag for the FTF.
This one really is not as hard as the ratings sound, although it may be a little tougher now that the drought conditions have lessened and the new container isn't white. There is no shoulder on the road here. There are some good places to pull out nearby, however. Stealth is a must. The scenery is so pretty here. I "took pictures" with my GPSr when vehicles passed by to foil curious onlookers.
