A short hike/climb up to an old mine prospect above Carr Canyon.
Follow Carr Canyon Rd. (FR 368) to the parking area. A rough, primative trail climbs up the canyon to the prospect area. Along the trail you will encounter plants with thorns such as Cat Claw, Cholla, and Prickly Pear cactus. Higher up the trail you enter the juniper-oak-manzanita woodlands along with the occasional small fir tree. There are good views of Carr Peak and Carr Falls from the trail.
The cache is an ammo box.
