Problem #1: We enjoy caches in parks, but there are too
many parks without caches.
Problem #2: We aren't the most creative cache hiders so
we typically tend not to hide caches, so areas are available for
more creative hiders.
Solution: The Adopt-A-Park Series.
This cache series consists of easy caches placed at our many
local parks. We've done our best to choose an area with low muggle
traffic and easy retrieval of the cache (at least we hope). The
point of these hides are not the cache themselves but the park they
bring you to. There are so many unknown parks to a lot of us and
geocaching is a great way to discover them.
While you're visiting this park, if you happen to think of a
more creative cache hide then consider "adopting" this park. Just
let us know you have an idea and if our cache is in the way of you
placing your cache then we'll gladly archive it to make room for a
more creative/interesting hide.
According to Google Maps this park is called Windmills West Park
and even though it doesn't seem new there was no City of Chandler
park sign anywhere. We drove past here the other weekend and
thought the park was too small and didn't see any good areas for a
cache. Today we decided to walk around and we realized this park is
much larger than we originally thought. Hopefully this cache will
give you the chance to see how nice this park is.
There is plenty of shade at this park and the cache is hidden
where you should be able to stay cool. There is a spot at the cache
site to sit and log your find (or wait out any muggles). There is
plenty of room to run around or play on the playground.
New container was started out with a bandaid, lizard and a fancy
paperclip. Bring your own pen and enjoy!
Congratulations to Team AZFastFeet on claiming the
FTF!
Online logs without a corresponding signature on the physical
logsheet will be deleted. Extra hints will be provided to those who
post a DNF after their unsuccessful attempt(s).
