Geocache Description:

The first in a planned series of caches dedicated to sites involved in the defence of this great country of ours.

Within a few feet of the cache you will see firing slits along the wall of this house. These were built to allow local members of the Home Guard some protection against German invaders in WW2 in the event of an invasion. This area was part of the GHQ line, a so called `stop line` of defences meant to slow the Germans down and allow reinforcements to be brought from other areas of the country.
