Located half a mile down the pathway that begins at Willamette Park. A nice stroll to a nice location. You do not need to go into the butterfly preserve area, you can go around it. Be careful not to trample the greenery.
The best approach spot is the Willamette Park parking area. After entering the park, turn left and park (unless you want to pay the $3 parking charge in the summer - free other seasons). The walk is shorter but not as nice approaching from the other end. The park is a great spot to begin a leisurely walk down the path. In about 10 minutes you'll stumble upon a little-known park (just down from the well-known park). Enjoy the stroll and the river vantage point. Hidden in the cache is a $20 bow tie for the FTF, batteries for your GPSr if it's running low, and of course, a log book. Enjoy!
