Geocache Description:

I always loved this farm and thought it was in desparate need of another geocache,
what better way to introduce some newbies to caching but to hide a cache in honor of them!

Welcome to "DYLAN'S BIRTHDAY CACHE" !

HAPPTY BIRTHDAY DYLAN! (March 19!)

Cache is full of random goodies, a log book and a Birthday card for Dylan.

Sign the card and leave a happy birthday message!

Property Description

75 acres | Established 2006

The open fields, stone walls and iconic yellow farm buildings evoke a sense of days gone by. East Over Reservation provides a rare opportunity to explore a working farm, managed in harmony with its natural setting. The surrounding woods shelter vernal pools and amidst the fields and barns you'll find bobolinks, orioles and chimney swifts.

Trails

Miles of trails passing through a mosaic of agricultural fields, successional forests, and winding hedgerows all surrounded by quarry-stone capped double walls.

Property Acquisition History

In about 1853 successful New York businessman Charles H. Leonard began to transform a working landscape around a gristmill on the Sippican River. The Hiller family purchased the land in 1910 and cared for it until it was permanently protected between 2003 and 2005 by a broad coalition, including The Trustees of Reservations, the Town of Rochester, and the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources

OPEN:
Year-round, daily, sunrise to sunset.
Admission Fees & Permits:
Free
Regulations / Advisories:
Please stay on designated trails to protect farmland, and fragile natural systems.
Dogs must be leashed at all times. Mountain biki/ng and horseback riding are not permitted.

Tail Map- only 1 is laminated at the parking area and is available for use if returned, my suggestion is to print this one before you go.

A Bonus adventure that The trustees have out ( i believe this is seasonal but you can try for it ) ,you will also find the actual geocache along with this treasure from The trustees! THE GEOCACHE IS NOT OUT IN THE OPEN ( THAT IS THE QUEST BY THE RESERVATION) PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO BOTH CONTIANERS AND HIDE THE ACTUAL GEOCACHE BACK WHERE YOU FOUND IT.
