Bridge
, Wheeling Bridge No. 19,
is named for
LongdonL. Miller the original builder
of the bridge, which was entered into the National Register of
Historic Places in 1979.
This
rather long, 67 ft., 6 in.,
11 ft., 10 in.
wide, Queenpost truss structure which
spans the Templeton Fork of Wheeling Creek, has four wooden trestle
supports under its deck of crosswise planking .
The
bridges trussing is now being supported by some added
bracing and it’s mortared,cut stone
abutments have been
extended to form somewhat lower
wingwalls.
This
bridge has vertical plank siding and portals that are painted barn
red, and there are rectangular windows on each side, in addition to
narrow eave openings. The once, tin-covered gable
roof., was also, replaced when the
bridge was refurbished in 2001.
