I travel this road often, on my
way to hiking in
the Catskill Mountains- and thought this rest stop could use
a
geocache. I hope that when you come this way
to
find the cache, you will continue on into the Catskill
mountains and see their beauty. There are
very few geocaches there because of the rules and
regulations of the park - and this is good: We must
protect the fragile environment that exists there. But
don't let that stop you from hiking on the trails to a few of the
summits or
visiting any of the five
fire towers that are
within the Catskill
Park.
Of course, if you don't approach this cache from the West, you
might want
to call it "On my way out of the Catskills"
This link has a lot
of information on it that you
might be able to use in your exploration of the
catskills
The cache is a tic tac container (replacement) in a baggie....
Bring your own pen.
Picnic tables and
grills near by if you with you bring lunch and
picnic here.
